To be held between August 31 and September 2, 2020, in Cuenca, Ecuador, the TICAL Conference and the Latin American e-Science Meeting opened their calls to present papers between January 8 and April 20, until 24:00 GMT (closing time of both). Applications must be submitted strictly complying with the format and form established in the bases of both calls and in their respective Authors' Guides.

In order to strengthen the capacity of universities and research centers in science and education, and to guide the development and integration of the set of advanced computing services required by national networks to form the regional academic network and its user communities, it was created, on the occasion of the Assembly of Partners of the Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks (La Serena, Chile, December 3-5, 2019), the RedCLARA Scientific Computing Council. The organ, made up of nine senior (and three alternate) counselors, will start its activities in January 2020.

LACNIC is calling, until March 1, for presentations to be included on the LTF agenda for LACNIC33, our upcoming event which will be held in the city of Cali, Colombia, on 4-8 May 2020.

ICT and Higher Education Institutions leaders from all over the world will be meeting on April 22, in Malaga, Spain, on the occasion of the EUNIS 2020 Rectors' Conference, meeting that will discuss the topic “Leading the success of digital transformation”.

RedCLARA announced, on the occasion of its Directory and Assembly - held in the Chilean city of La Serena, between December 3 and 5, 2019 -, the new members of its Board of Directors and the renewal of the structure of the organism, which is detailed in the new Statutes of the regional advanced network, to be shared soon by this same channel.

The book, published in early November 2019, seeks to be the starting point for the joint work of HEIs in Latin America to promote good practices in ICT governance in these institutions.
