The Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks (RedCLARA) and the Advanced Computing System of Latin America and the Caribbean (SCALAC), signed, on September 26, 2019, in Turrialba, Costa Rica, within the framework of the Latin American High Performance Computing Conference (CARLA2019), a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in which they commit to establish cooperation guidelines with the aim of enhancing access to high performance computing (HPC) resources in the region.


Eleven people from six countries around the world, including Michael Stanton, network scientist and former director of the Brazilian advanced network RNP, José Soriano, Internet pioneer in Peru, and Klaas Wierenga, creator of eduroam, have been included in the Internet Hall of Fame for its pioneering and visionary contributions to the growth, access and global security of the Internet.*

The call for the Routing Equipment Bidding Process for the update of RedCLARA’s infrastructure in South America is open since September 13.

The PPT and PDF files of the papers and presentations shared in the sessions of the TICAL2019 Conference and the 3rd Latin American e-Science Meeting are now available for download and consultation at the event site.

Con el tema "El genoma estudiantil y la metamorfosis digital universitaria", finalizó este miércoles 4, la novena edición de TICAL y el 3er Encuentro Latinoamericano de e-Ciencia, que se estavan llevando a cabo desde el lunes 2 de septiembre en el Centro Internacional de Convenciones de Cancún, en México. La ciudad, que es uno de los destinos turísticos más visitados del mundo, recibió a más de 300 participantes entre rectores, vicerrectores, directores TIC e investigadores de instituciones de educación superior, ciencia y cultura de Latinoamérica, Europa, Estados Unidos y Canadá.
