RedCLARA has a new member. At the end of December 2019, the Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks and the National Network of Advanced Higher Education of Honduras (RedNESAH) signed the agreement of affiliation of the Honduran institution to the regional network*. But how was RedNESAH born? What are its challenges in Honduras and how can RedCLARA help in this process? We talked about these and other issues with Dr. Patricia Hernández Cañadas, Executive Director of Technology Management of the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH) and Executive Manager of the Honduran NREN.

RedCLARA is looking for a Meeting Solution to add to the portfolio it offers to its 14 NREN in Latin-America and their 1.000+ Institutions. The tender will close in February 7, 2020.

The Institute of Chile and the chilean NREN, REUNA, during January 16th signed a Memorandum of Understanding that aims to enhance the collaboration between the two institutions. The organizations were represented by Adriana Valdés, President of the Institute of Chile, and Paola Arellano, Executive Director of REUNA.

The new Statutes of RedCLARA were approved under Uruguayan law at the end of November 2019. The decision of change of the previous Statutes, that were in force since June 2011, was taken at the General Assembly of members held on November 9, 2018. The Ibero-American High Performance Computing Network (RICAP) announced the launch of its fifth call for access to HPC supercomputing resources. The call was created so that research groups that can hardly use supercomputing clusters to carry out their projects, can also have this type of infrastructure.
