The call for subscription into the new bidding for Optical Equipment opens this Wednesday, March 11, 2020. Once acquired, the optical equipment will illuminate the interconnection sections of the BELLA-T Project between Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Ecuador, in order to update the RedCLARA infrastructure in South America.
The first stage of the bidding process closes on April 14 and will be conducted through a competitive procedure with negotiation in accordance with the EU Public Procurement Directive and repealing Directive 2004/24 / EC.
BELLA-T is a project funded by the European Commission under Contract LA / 2016 / 376-534 with the goal of achieving a significant long-term improvement of the South American academic network, allowing the Latin American Regional Research and Education Network, RedCLARA, to guarantee complete and equitable access of the NRENs of Latin America to the capacity of the direct submarine cable between Europe and Latin America. This submarine cable is being acquired through the BELLA-S Project, an underwater part of the BELLA Program.
