On March 6, 2017 has been opened the Call for Tender for Telecommunications Infrastructure and Services to connect the national research and education networks (NRENs) of: Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia, as well as infrastructure for Chile and a submarine connection between Colombia and Brazil.

The Latin American and Caribbean Information Centre (LACNIC) announced the organization of the next regional event LACNIC27 in Foz do Iguaçu. The conference, which will bring together the region's Internet community, will be held from May 22 to 26 and will host the 15th Latin American IPv6 Forum - FLIP6, the IPv6 Working Group for Latin America and the Caribbean and the Regional Interconnection Forum.

Configured at a speed of 10 Gbps, the access to Microsoft's public cloud is provided within the unlimited bandwidth model for the national academic networks connected to RedCLARA. For those who have already implemented this connectivity model, the access to Microsoft services will have no bandwidth restrictions (unlike the 10 Gbps physical link capacity).
The Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks (CLARA) announces the call for the appointment of the next Executive Director of this Civil Association. CLARA is based in Montevideo, Uruguay, and its social objective is the "coordination between the national academic networks of Latin America for the development of a regional network operated by its members to interconnect these networks and thus promote regional scientific and technological development."

Open to RedCLARA member networks and their members, these Microsoft courses allow you to choose one or more of the five available specializations. The registration deadlines, which were intended to end on February 13, have been extended and the new deadline will be announced soon.
