Those of us who work in the organization of TICAL2020 and the 4th Latin American e-Science Meeting want to thank you for your registration and participation in this, the tenth version of our annual meeting. Yes! We will be 10 years! Well, the pandemic that affects us globally led us to live this edition remotely, taking advantage of the benefits that technology offers, which this time allows us to meet virtually, taking advantage of all the applications that will allow us to interact in a fluid and efficient way , thanks to an alliance established between RedCLARA, Google and BeduTech.

The Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks (RedCLARA) is involved in the deployment of two new projects in scientific data management and seeks for six interns who will be added to the initiative's development team.

The format may change, but the essence wont. With this principle in mind, the TICAL Conference and the 4th Latin American e-Science Meeting announced during Monday, August 10, the programme, the group of key speakers and the platform that will host the events, which will take place in a virtual fashion and free of charge between August 31st and September 3rd.

On Saturday June 25 we received the sad news of the death of our dear friend Luis Alberto Gutiérrez. The sadness is enormous, as well as our eternal gratitude for his always lending and strength collaboration. Luis was a noble, friendly man, and immensely generous with his knowledge; the ICT world learned of its invaluable and continuous contribution to take Latin American universities to their necessary development through them.

The evaluating and program committees of the TICAL2020 Conference and of the 4th Latin American e-Science Meeting announced the list of selected papers to be presented in the parallel sessions of the events, which will be carried out virtually between Agust 31 and September 3.

Online collaboration is open with the international group of experts in charge of producing the first draft of the "Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence" that will be presented to UNESCO member states for adoption in November 2021.
