The 42nd Ibero-Latin American Congress of Computational Methods in Engineering (XLII CILAMCE) and the 3rd Pan American Congress on Computational Mechanics (III PANACM) will be held in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from November 9 to 12, with the support of RedCLARA and in a virtual format.

LA Referencia, RedCLARA and the Research Data Alliance United States (RDA-US) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that formalizes their relationship. The organizations will seek the establishment of the implementing principles of openness, consensus, inclusivity and harmonisation to build a social and technical infrastructure that enables open sharing and re-use of research data between regions to improve communication, to facilitate the exchange of resources, and technical capabilities.

The papers were selected by the Program Committee, taking into account the grades assigned to each work by the Evaluation Committee - during the selection process for presentation at the events - and the quality of the work and presentation carried out in the parallel sessions of TICAL and the e-Science Meeting.

On the occasion of the closing ceremony of the TICAL2021 Conference, last September 2, the Executive Directors of CEDIA (Ecuador), CUDI (Mexico), REUNA (Chile) and RNP (Brazil), with the mutual conviction that the Security of Information is of great value to institutions, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RedCLARA for the creation of the Cyber Security Group of NRENs in Latin America.

There were four days of event, with talks given by experts such as Pawel Swieboda and Martin Hilbert, the launch of the connectivity of the BELLA Programme and the presentations of innovative ICT papers from all over Latin America. Now, the recordings of all the plenary and parallel sessions that happened at the TICAL2021 Conference and the 5th Latin American e-Science Meeting, held between August 30 and September 2, are available on the RedCLARA channel on YouTube.

RedCLARA and GÉANT have recently inaugurated the connectivity of the BELLA Programme, which connects Latin America and Europe through the EllaLink cable. In order to maximize the capacities that can be developed through this new connection, the Spanish Energy, Environmental and Technological Research Center (CIEMAT) and the EU-LAC ResInfra project have designed a short survey to assess the knowledge that the Latin American scientific community has about the advanced services offered through RedCLARA.
