Are the Poles the final frontiers of research and education (R&E) networks? What are the technical, political, and scientific implications of connecting the Arctic and Antarctic to the global network for research and education? What is, for Latin America, the importance of the connectivity of Antarctica from the southernmost city in the world, Punta Arenas? Discover the answers to all these central doubts in this event, which unites the academic networks of the Americas, this time, around the poles and their connectivity.

Seven leading regional and national Research and Education networks and organisations across multiple continents announced the establishment of the "Bridging Europe, Africa and the Americas" (BEAA) Collaboration, aiming to increase the resilience of their networks across a set of transoceanic links that interconnect their communities in Eastern and Southern Africa, Europe and Latin America.

The announcement of the approval - in an election that had the highest number of voters in eduGAIN history - of FIEL, RedCLARA’s Federation, and of the Federation of Thailand, ThaiIDF, was made by the Chair and secretariat of eduGAIN early on April 5.

With the aim of improving the understanding of global problems through the use of data, the Co-Afina 2022 hackathon will be held between March and May 2022. It is a creative initiative promoted by LA-CoNGA Physics and supported by RedCLARA, in which university students of Latin America will collaboratively develop solutions to solve problems related to scientific and educational issues with social impact.

The 10th edition of TICEC, the annual conference of the Ecuadorian advanced network CEDIA and most important ICT event in Ecuador, announced the opening of its call for papers. The deadline to apply closes on June 19, and the call will focus on the topics of Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Development and ICT.
