Monitoring of the decrease in air pollution during the coronavirus pandemic, of climate change and of forest fire alerts. These are some of the interesting activities and research for Brazil and for the world that make use of the data generated by the Copernicus project. This program of the European Commission counts on the international cooperation of various countries, including Brazil, Colombia and Chile in Latin America.

With the aim of “decongesting” the health centres in its region and providing professional guidance to the community, the University of Concepción, in Chile, through its Faculty of Medicine and its Telemedicine Unit, launched the website https://coronavirus.udec.cl

Educational institutions are being forced to make a major change due to the new Coronavirus pandemic. Certainly, the transformation process was accelerated in a few years, due to the urgent need for teaching to have to break the geographical, technological and, the most difficult one, the customs barriers.

(By: Marco Antonio To) The digital route is understood as the steps that a university takes to be able to reach a complete transformation in its Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services, for the benefit and improvement of all the users that make up the contemporary university. This allows us to be better prepared for fast changes foster by new generations or, as has happened in 2020, due to extreme emergencies.

We live in a society that drives and witnesses a vast amount of changes that, to a large extent, are stimulated and facilitated by information and communication technologies (ICTs). These technologies, since their origins, have generated many expectations, given that their impact on the digital transformation of our society was decisive; just remember the industrial revolutions, a historic milestone in technological development, especially the third one, which saw the emergence of the computer as a synonym for processes automation.
