In order to collect information that allows to identify the state of advancement of the incorporation of identity federation services and the provision of services under a federation structure in Latin American universities, the TICAL community by means of RedCLARA will carry out an online study targeted to ICT leaders of the higher education and research institutions of Latin America.

In October, the Brazilian National Research and Educational Network (Rede Nacional de Ensino e Pesquisa - RNP) promotes the Security Month, aiming to foster the culture of information security in Academic institutions in Brazil and Latin America. The celebration strives to create opportunities for institutions to discuss good practices in the use of technology in its local communities.

Rafael Ibarra, one of the founders of RedCLARA and leader of the Salvadorian NREN, RAICES, was selected as one of the members of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) Board of Directors.
At a ceremony in New York, the United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, took receipt of a proposal calling for the establishment of a Technology Bank for the world’s Least Developed Countries (LDCs) - “Feasibility Study for a United Nations Technology Bank for the Least Developed Countries”.
The event is a high-level visit to take place from October 26 to 30, 2015, in the Province of Córdoba, Argentina. The call for papers ends this Tuesday, September 29.
