The University Telemedicine Network for Latin America and the Caribbean (RUTE-ALC) will hold a new session of its 2026 webinar series on 8 April, addressing the relationship between bioinformatics and health informatics as key areas for the development of digital health in the region.

The Latin American and Caribbean University Telemedicine Network (RUTE-ALC) launched its 2026 session cycle with a meeting focused on reflecting on the role of National Research and Education Networks (NRENs), members of RedCLARA, in advancing digital health.

The BELLA II project continues to advance in defining the digital infrastructure that will strengthen connectivity and cooperation between Latin America, the Caribbean, and Europe.
The meeting brought together representatives from fourteen research and education networks from around the world in Chile, with the aim of strengthening international collaboration on key issues for the scientific and academic community.
The Chilean research and education network has joined a global community of more than 170 organisations working to advance future networks through innovation in optical and wireless technologies and distributed processing.

Research, innovation, and technology development teams from Latin America and the Caribbean are invited to apply for the BELLA II Bioinformatics and Artificial Intelligence (BIO+IA) Testbed Early Adopters Programme, a regional initiative that promotes projects that use artificial intelligence to analyze molecular interaction networks.
