Colombia consolidates and expands its science, technology and innovation ecosystem with the linking of the National Academic Network of Advanced Technology - RENATA to BELLA II, the most important regional initiative in these areas, which seeks to reduce the digital divide between Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks, RedCLARA, has become an official member of the Latin American and Caribbean Cyber Competence Centre (LAC4), an initiative implemented by EU CyberNet and funded by the European Union (EU). Accession to LAC4 aims to strengthen continental cooperation and technical assistance in the field of cyber security for the benefit of the region's NRENs.

How to face challenges such as violence, childhood obesity, and the inappropriate use of technology was the focus of the Webinar “Health of children and adolescents in the Americas”, held on 27 november, by the Latin American University Telemedicine Network (RUTE-AL), with the support of the advanced networks of Brazil (RNP) and Mexico (CUDI).
Meaningful connectivity ensures that all people and communities have access to the Internet and affordable and reliable digital technologies, contributing to bridging the digital divide, promoting equal opportunities and empowering the most vulnerable groups. This will be the main theme of the next Strategic Dialogue of the BELLA II project, which will take place on 29 November in Cartagena, Colombia.

To promote technical and technological cooperation, innovation, and digital transformation at the national level, as well as in Latin America and the Caribbean, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCYT), the Government Office of Information and Communication Technologies (OGCIT) and the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (INDOTEL) of the Dominican Republic signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks, RedCLARA.

Leading experts, academics and authorities from Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean met on November 16 and 17 at the workshop "Digital Transformation as an Enabler for the Improvement of Food Security and Clean Energy Transition", to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the innovative use of digital tools for the development of initiatives in agriculture, energy transition and climate monitoring.
