TICEC 2026 opens registration and will bring together experts in AI, cybersecurity and digital innovation in Ambato

The TICEC 2026 Conference, organised by CEDIA, will take place on 15 and 16 October in Ambato, Ecuador. The event will bring together researchers, lecturers, students, professionals and specialists in information and communications technology to discuss the trends and challenges shaping the region’s digital future.

The ‘City of Flowers and Fruit’ and the ‘Cradle of the Three Juans’ are the other names by which Ambato is known; the city is hosting the latest edition of TICEC, one of the most significant conferences in Ecuador’s technological and academic ecosystem. Over the two days of the event, participants will have the opportunity to learn about new trends, share experiences, build collaborative networks and explore emerging issues linked to digital transformation.

According to the call for participation issued by CEDIA, the event is aimed at researchers, technicians, lecturers, students and professionals interested in analysing the current and future challenges of ICT, in a forum designed to foster the exchange of knowledge and the creation of opportunities for cooperation between academia, research and innovation.

Key topics at this year’s event include artificial intelligence applied to education and healthcare, security in IoT environments, and the impact of human behaviour on software development processes. The programme includes keynote speeches that will address, amongst other topics, the design of smart and hybrid educational ecosystems; the evolution of artificial intelligence in the healthcare sector; and the influence of human factors on decision-making and collaborative work within technology teams.

As might be expected given the current context, cybersecurity will play a significant role on the agenda through presentations dedicated to the protection of connected environments and the strengthening of capabilities against digital threats – an issue of growing importance for higher education institutions and research centres in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The holding of TICEC 2026 represents a new opportunity to strengthen ties between the region’s academic and technology communities, promoting the exchange of experiences and the development of collaborative initiatives that contribute to digital and scientific development.
