Discover IDRC's 2030 Strategy for a more sustainable and inclusive world
The new strategy of the International Development Research Center (IDRC) - Canada-based institution - reaffirms its commitment to invest in high quality research and innovation, expanding its focus on sharing knowledge and continuing to mobilize global alliances to support more sustainable and inclusive societies in the developing world, facing the problems of global climate change and persistent inequalities that today are especially aggravated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
As detailed by the IDRC in its strategy for the coming decade, climate change and difficulties have brought major and important obstacles to the achievement of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. Therein lies the foundation of its new focus, which reflects the IDRC's ambition to help overcome these problems worldwide and the commitment to address them as part of its research priorities and internal operations.
To this end, the IDRC has set five research areas as priorities for its work in developing countries: climate-resistant food systems, global health, education and science, democratic and inclusive governance, and sustainable and inclusive economies.
