This Thursday, May 23: Join the second session of the Internet Society workshop on MANRS
On the road to the TICAL2019 Conference, the Internet Society invites you to participate in the second session of the workshop "Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security on the Internet – MANRS". The meeting will be held this Thursday, May 23, at 6h pm GMT, with the theme "Filtering", and will be attended by the experts Silvia Chávez (CUDI) and Carmen Denis (UADY).

MANRS Workshop
The workshop consists of five virtual sessions and will conclude, for those who participate in it from the TICAL and RedCLARA communities, with a face-to-face session in TICAL2019 (Cancún, Mexico, from September 2 to 4, 2019). For those who are mexican community member of ANUIES, the conclusion will occur in the context of the ANUIES-TIC 2019 Meeting, on October 2, at the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon.
The workshop sessions are scheduled as follows:
- Session 1: Thursday, April 25, 18:00 GMT - Introduction to MANRS: Christian O'Flaherty (Internet Society), José Luis Ponce (ANUIES).
- Session 2: Thursday, May 23 - MANRS: Action 1 - Filtering
- Session 3: Thursday, June 13 - MANRS: Action 2 - Anti-Spoofing
- Session 4: Thursday, July 11 - MANRS: Action 3 - Coordination
- Session 5: Thursday, August 22 - MANRS: Action 4 - Global Validation
It is important to consider that the workshop is specialized, so it is addressed to specialists and network operators of institutions that have knowledge on the BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) protocol.
Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS) is a community initiative organized by the Internet Society, which aims to improve the security and resilience of the global routing system. It is a collaboration between operators implementing best practices that allow safer and more reliable routing for all. The workshop is organized by Internet Society, with the support of the National Association of Universities and Institutions of Higher Education (ANUIES), through its ANUIES-ICT Committee, in coordination with its allies and members NIC Mexico, CUDI, LACNIC, LACNOG, Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán and Universidad de Guadalajara, as well as RedCLARA.
