The new edition of DeCLARA starts the countdown to TICAL 2024, the Latin American Conference on Technology, Innovation, and Education. This event brings together leaders and experts in information and communication technologies to share knowledge and experiences on applying these technologies within the academic sphere. Registration remains open, with discounts available until October 30.

Another featured topic is the InnovaInvest project, which aims to connect innovation and investment through the BELLA II Project to drive development in the region. BELLA II has also launched testbeds in key areas like blockchain, cybersecurity, and HPC, paving the way for emerging technologies.

SCALAC continues to strengthen its role as a key player in advancing supercomputing across Latin America. This edition includes a profile of Philippe Navaux, who leads SCALAC into new technological frontiers. The issue also highlights Ipezinho, Brazil’s award-winning advanced network chatbot, which is transforming interactions with information. The newsletter also celebrates REUNA’s three decades of transformation in Chile and highlights the progress of the Copernicus Academy in its regional rollout, an initiative promising to enhance research throughout Latin America.

Finally, DeCLARA reports on the recent election of a new president and vice president for LA Referencia and features a LACChain podcast exploring the potential of RedCLARA’s new blockchain project. It also shares a recent report on the state of HPC in Latin America and the Caribbean and highlights BELLA’s participation in the EU-LAC Global Gateway Investment Agenda Meeting.
