The establishment of a direct undersea telecommunications cable between Latin America and Europe is on the agenda of the leaders of the countries of the two regions. It was evident in the I Summit of the European Union and the Community of States from Latin American and the Caribbean (EU CELAC) held in late January in Chile.

El cáncer gástrico y colorectal se encuentran entre la segunda y cuarta causas de muerte relacionadas con neoplasias a nivel mundial. Japón es un país, que en la búsqueda por diagnosticar y tratar el cáncer gástrico en etapas tempranas, ha desarrollado alternativas endoscópicas innovadoras y mínimamente invasivas como la disección endoscópica de la submucosa (ESD), resección endoscópica de la mucosa (EMR) y el diagnóstico del cáncer gastroinstestinal incipiente (EGIC). El desarrollo de dichas técnicas ha favorecido el diseño de equipamiento, tecnología y entrenamiento especializados concentrados principalmente en la región asiática y en Japón de manera particular.
